To meet these goals today, Microsoft announces that it has completed EU data boundary for Microsoft CloudThe manager of the solution that imposes and sectors of public processes and commercial data on customers in the EU and the European Association of Free Trade (EFTA).
Our customers of the European Commercial and Public Sector are now able to store and process their customer data and pseudonymized personal data for Microsoft Core Cloud Services – Including Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, power platforms and most Azure Services – In EU and EFTA regions. In addition, Microsoft stores professional services from the interactions of technical support for basic cloud services in EU and EFTA regions.
This milestone is the culmination of a massive multi -year engineering effort across Hungs of Microsoft product teams and thousands of developers surround Globe. EU data boundary reflects Microsoft’s obligation to deliverIng Unrivaled cloud services that protect European transparency, and increase customer control. It is a reflection of our commitment to Europe and is part of a wide range of abilities and solutions that we provide to our customers.
The EU data limit was delivered to our customers at these stages:
- Microsoft launched phase 1 in January 2023 and enabled the storage and processing of customer data for basic services, including most Microsoft Cloud of Online Services: Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Azure.
- Stage 2, launched in January 2024, has expanded the range of data to include pseudonymized personal data and even ensure the data that is pseudonymized to prevent direct identification, remains in these regions.
- Stage 3, with the completion of the EU data limit in February 2025, ensures that when customers in EU and EFTA require technical support for services such as Microsoft 365, Power Platform and Dynamics 365, professional services data provided (such as protocols) (such as support box notes). For some Azure services, other customer actions that are documented here may be required to obtain a commitment to store data on professional services.
